MEMORY VERSE

"And the power of the Lord was with Jesus."

Luke 5:17, NIV

Engagement Questions

  • Who can do anything?
  • Name some amazing things Jesus has done.

Prayer

"Dear God, thank You for giving us Jesus to be our friend forever. Thank You that Jesus can do anything. Help us remember to always talk to Jesus about everything because Jesus can do anything. We love You, God. In Jesus' name. Amen."

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

When you go into your child's room, cuddle them and say: "Good morning, [child's name]! Pretend you're a fish and I'm fishing. (Wrap your arms around your child.) Look! I caught a fish! Jesus really did help Peter catch fish. Peter caught so many fish his boat began to sink! Wow! Jesus can do anything!"

Drive Time

While on the go, look for powerful things. Anything that has power qualifies, even your preschooler's big powerful muscles! Then say: "I know Someone who is more powerful than all of these things. Jesus! Jesus is so powerful, Jesus can do anything!"

Cuddle Time

Cuddle with your child and pray: "Dear God, help us remember that Jesus can help us with anything, like the time Jesus helped Peter. Peter couldn't catch any fish. Then Jesus made Peter catch so many fish that his boat began to sink! Peter's story helps us know that Jesus can do anything!"

Bath Time

During bath time, show your child how to make a fish face and then make fish faces together. Talk about how Peter was a fisherman, but one night, he couldn't catch any fish. Then Jesus made Peter catch so many fish, his boat began to sink! Wow! Jesus has the power to do anything!
