Matthew 9:9-10

Jesus asks Matthew to follow Him and be His friend, even though Matthew has made bad choices.

"Love each other in the same way I have loved you."

Engagement Questions

• Who does Jesus love?
• If Jesus came to your house, what food would you make for Him?

Prayer

"Dear God, thank You for sending Jesus to show us how much You love us and how we should love each other. Please help us love like Jesus. You're the best, God. In Jesus' name. Amen."

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

When you go into your child's room, cuddle them and say: "Good morning, [child's name]! Let's start the day naming people Jesus loves. Jesus loves me, and Jesus loves you, and Jesus loves...(name several people together). Jesus loves everyone!"

Drive Time

While on the go, look for buses. Talk about how Jesus loves everyone on each bus, because Jesus loves everyone!

Cuddle Time

Cuddle with your child and pray: "Dear God, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to love [name of family members]. We know Jesus loves all of these people because Jesus loves everyone."

Bath Time

Add toy cars or people to bath time. Encourage your child to make them follow each other along the edge of the tub and through the water. Talk about how Jesus told Matthew to follow him. So, Matthew got up and followed Jesus!
