What are Bible Studies?

The format is that every group member works together to discover what is in the Bible text of the day. There is a facilitator for each group, but there is not a formal teacher.

Are they multi-generational or split by age group?

Groups are multi-generational. Any adult can sign up.

Do I need to buy any books or curriculum or do homework to participate?

No, there are no extra materials to purchase or homework to do. Just show up and discover God's word together. The burden is light, and the barrier to entry is low.

Can I show up even if I didn't sign up?

Yes, and please do! Sign ups help us determine what spaces to use and if we need to adjust times. The groups are not locked down. In fact, they are ALWAYS OPEN! Invite new people regardless of how many weeks the group has been meeting together.

What Bible book will we be discovering together this Fall?

All the groups will be discovering 1 Corinthians.

Will we ever do other kinds of groups?

Yes! Bible studies are important for our church right now, but we envision adding multiple kinds of groups in the future such as learning-based groups with a teacher, community-based groups for the purpose of getting to know one another, and accountability groups for the purpose of checking on one another's spiritual health. All kinds have a place in the body of Christ.
