Not all are called to foster,
but as a church we are called
to do something!

The foster care ministry team is seeking to take God’s love into broken places by providing love and support to children in the foster care system by educating the church, connecting the church with opportunities, and by providing support for foster and biological families within our church and our community.

Current Opportunities:

Learn  About Foster Care
Faith Bridge

Whether you are curious about the statistics or you might consider fostering one day, you can sign up for a virtual Encounter to learn more!
If you would like to provide a frozen meal for a foster family that we currently are supporting, you can drop these meals off at the church any Sunday by placing in the kitchen refrigerator.  The team will move the meal to the freezer and deliver to the family.  Please label the meal clearly with the name of the food and cooking directions.  Ex.  Lasagna; cook covered on 350 for 50 minutes.

Community of Care/WRAP Training

WRAP teams will provide support to foster families in these areas:

W | Words of Encouragement – Text, call & write letters of encouragement to the foster family.
R | Respite Care – Give foster families respite through acts of babysitting, taking children out for playdates, and more.
A | Acts of Service – Providing or organizing meals and simply asking the family if they have any physical needs that the church might help meet.
P | Prayer – Spending time in intentional prayer for the foster family you are assigned.

Join us to discover how this works! If you would like to be a part of a WRAP team register here for a future training.

**Background check and trauma training are required in addition to being a member of New Salem to provide Respite Care for a foster family.
